A Garden and Outdoor Patio Go Hand-in-hand

I love to garden, and when my family moved into a new home, I was very excited at the thought of getting to plan a brand-new garden! We moved to a completely different climate, so there was a learning curve to finding out which flowers and plants would thrive in the new location. Thankfully, the project was a success, but I realized that our family didn't get to enjoy the beauty of our garden without an outdoor living space to lounge on in the backyard. We soon found a local contractor with amazing ideas on how we could turn out yard into a beautiful, outdoor oasis. I enjoyed helping him plan and watching him build our new backyard patio, and I actually learned a lot during the process. I am eager to share what I have learned with others on my new blog!

How A Landscape Architect Can Help With A Design & How Much The Service May Cost

If you have a large landscape that is not very appealing, you may want to consider hiring a landscape architect to help you come up with a nice design. The success of how well plants will grow depends on many factors, so it is a good idea to have a professional by your side to help make decisions. In this article, you will learn how a landscape architect can help with your design and how much his or her services may cost.

How Can a Landscape Architect Help with a Design?

The first thing a landscape architect will do is speak with you about your ideas to come up with a design that you are satisfied with. Don't worry about not having any knowledge of plants; just tell the architect everything you desire. He or she will be able to suggest alternative plant options if you choose plants that are not good for the type of soil or climate you have.

A landscape architect will also ask you about the kind of budget you can work with. Attempting to design a landscape on your own can lead to spending money on materials that you don't need. An architect has the skills to measure each area of your landscape to calculate what you can spend on each section and how many materials are needed without overspending.

The architect will also be able to install an irrigation system that is customized to the type of plants you have. He or she will make sure none of the plants are receiving too little or too much water, as well as that the water does not get onto your neighbor's property.

How Much Does the Services of a Landscape Architect Cost?

There is no set price for hiring a landscape architect to help plan a design, as it will depend on what kind of services you need. For a simple landscape design, you can expect to pay up to $2,500 for a detailed plan that includes drawings. However, a more experienced architect can charge over two times that much and higher, depending on the size of your landscape.

Investing money on a large landscape is a good idea because it can actually increase the value of your home. At the same time, a poor landscape design can be unattractive to potential buyers if you decide to sell your home one day. For more information, contact Landscape Perceptions or a similar company.
