A Garden and Outdoor Patio Go Hand-in-hand

I love to garden, and when my family moved into a new home, I was very excited at the thought of getting to plan a brand-new garden! We moved to a completely different climate, so there was a learning curve to finding out which flowers and plants would thrive in the new location. Thankfully, the project was a success, but I realized that our family didn't get to enjoy the beauty of our garden without an outdoor living space to lounge on in the backyard. We soon found a local contractor with amazing ideas on how we could turn out yard into a beautiful, outdoor oasis. I enjoyed helping him plan and watching him build our new backyard patio, and I actually learned a lot during the process. I am eager to share what I have learned with others on my new blog!

How To Create A Decent Workspace In Your Apartment

Are you currently living in an apartment? If so, then you may have many restrictions when it comes to decorating your space. This includes having restrictions in your office space, which can pose a challenge, since you likely want an office space that is cozy enough for you to work in there comfortably. Here are some ways that you can get around these restrictions so that you are able to create a workspace that is just right for you:

  • Wall Decals: There are many options of wall decals to choose from that will help you to add color and design in your office space. You can choose wall decals that mimic the look of a painting on the wall, or you can choose wall decals that make it appear as if you have painted a wall in the room. For example, they have chevron designed wall decals that can allow you to cover up a whole plain wall in a room. The best part is that these wall decals can easily be removed and leave no damages.
  • Separators: Another problem with apartments is that you are not allowed to do any major construction such as removing walls or creating new ones. Luckily, you can easily purchase separators or dividers that act like walls in your space. This will allow you to separate your office space from other areas of your apartment if it is necessary. This can also ensure that you are able to create a much smaller office space that is more compact and cozy for you to work in.
  • Area Rugs: If your apartment has wood flooring, then you obviously aren't allowed to install carpeting in any areas, since this is likely against your landlord's rules. Luckily, you can add an area rug into your office space that will also create a much cozier and warm space that can be easier to work in.
  • Command Hooks: If you do not want to create damage to the walls in your office space, but you want to be able to hang certain picture frames, or other office wall hangings, you can always use command hooks. Many believe that command hooks are not stable enough to hold anything up. However, command hooks are actually really great for holding up wooden frames, or small office hangings, such as baskets.

Being able to create a comfortable office space in your apartment will allow you to work more comfortably and keep yourself more organized.
