A Garden and Outdoor Patio Go Hand-in-hand

I love to garden, and when my family moved into a new home, I was very excited at the thought of getting to plan a brand-new garden! We moved to a completely different climate, so there was a learning curve to finding out which flowers and plants would thrive in the new location. Thankfully, the project was a success, but I realized that our family didn't get to enjoy the beauty of our garden without an outdoor living space to lounge on in the backyard. We soon found a local contractor with amazing ideas on how we could turn out yard into a beautiful, outdoor oasis. I enjoyed helping him plan and watching him build our new backyard patio, and I actually learned a lot during the process. I am eager to share what I have learned with others on my new blog!

3 Reasons To Use Copper Roofing Tiles

Copper roofing tiles are among the best roofing materials available, mostly because they can provide you with a wide range of benefits that many other types of roofing simply cannot match. These types of roofing tiles are long-lasting, durable, and environmentally-friendly.

Long-Lasting

One of the best reasons to consider a copper roof is that it is going to last a very long time. In most cases, a copper roof is likely going to last longer than your home, and may even outlast you. This is because most copper roofs will last a little under 100 years, which makes them ideal if you do not want to have to worry about ever having to replace your roof again.

Durable

Copper roofing tiles are going to be more durable than most other types of roofing materials, mostly because they will be resistant to many of the conditions and issues that destroy other roofs. For example, a copper roof is a great choice for areas where there is a lot of moisture or rainfall.

While other materials may rot or rust in the moisture, a copper roof will develop a patina that will provide a layer of protection against the moisture. What makes this even better is that the patination of copper makes your roof turn an attractive shade of green that is very sought after by many home buyers.

In addition, a copper roof is not going to be susceptible to fire or insects. Since copper is fire resistant, there is not fuel for a spark or ember to ignite and start a fire on your roof. Also, since copper is inorganic, insects will not be able to feed on or bore into it.

Environmentally-Friendly

Copper is also one of the most environmentally-friendly roofing materials available. One reason for this is that it reflects sunlight away from your home, which keeps the interior of your home cooler and reduces the need for your air conditioner and lowers your home's energy consumption.

In addition, copper roofing tiles are frequently recycled. This is a great feature because it means that your roof is highly unlikely to take up space in a landfill.

In addition, the availability of recycled copper tiles means that you can purchase these tiles and reduce the demand for new copper tiles. This will then reduce the need for additional mining of copper, which will cut down on the amount of pollution that copper mining produces.

Speak to your local roof contractor today in order to discuss if copper is the best choice for you and your home. Copper roofing tiles can provide you with a roof that is durable, long-lasting, and great for the environment.
