A Garden and Outdoor Patio Go Hand-in-hand

I love to garden, and when my family moved into a new home, I was very excited at the thought of getting to plan a brand-new garden! We moved to a completely different climate, so there was a learning curve to finding out which flowers and plants would thrive in the new location. Thankfully, the project was a success, but I realized that our family didn't get to enjoy the beauty of our garden without an outdoor living space to lounge on in the backyard. We soon found a local contractor with amazing ideas on how we could turn out yard into a beautiful, outdoor oasis. I enjoyed helping him plan and watching him build our new backyard patio, and I actually learned a lot during the process. I am eager to share what I have learned with others on my new blog!

Tips For Ordering Custom Wooden Dining Room Chairs

If you are a homeowner, you likely want the interior of your home to look as good as possible. One way that you can achieve this is having the right furniture to set the mood that you find the most aesthetically appealing. It might be difficult for you to find the exact wooden chairs that you want in your dining room in order to achieve your desired mood. Luckily, you can order custom wooden dining chairs that will allow you to make sure that you get precisely the right furniture. Here are some factors to consider when ordering your custom chairs.

1. Think About Upholstery

Your first step is to determine if you want upholstery. When answering this question, you absolutely need to take into account whether you have young children or are planning on having children in the future, before you would replace the chairs. The reason for this is that many people find white upholstery to be aesthetically appealing and want to work it into their dining room customization. This can be problematic if you have children who are prone to spilling drinks or food because that white upholstery will be difficult to clean.

Upholstery in general is more difficult to clean than solid wood, so you might even want to consider skipping the upholstery all together. If you decide to go for it and you have or will have children, consider choosing upholstery that is in a dark color.

2. Think About Your Floors

If you have hardwood floors, they are likely one of the best things about your house because they look great. However, you can easily damage them by purchasing wooden chairs that have a tendency to scratch your hardware floors. Especially for chairs that are going to be located in the center of your household, such as in the dining room, because they will likely be used more frequently. Before you order your custom wooden chairs, talk to the woodworking company that you are employing. This will allow you to specify that you would like felt pads on the bottom of your chairs to keep them from scratching up your floor.

3. Think About the Future

Finally, if you are getting older, you might worry about having a hard time getting out of chairs. If you have this concern, consider getting armrests so that you have something to support yourself on when getting up from your dining room chair. If you are younger and don't have older people visit, this is less of an issue. You don't want to find your dining room to be unusable.
