A Garden and Outdoor Patio Go Hand-in-hand

I love to garden, and when my family moved into a new home, I was very excited at the thought of getting to plan a brand-new garden! We moved to a completely different climate, so there was a learning curve to finding out which flowers and plants would thrive in the new location. Thankfully, the project was a success, but I realized that our family didn't get to enjoy the beauty of our garden without an outdoor living space to lounge on in the backyard. We soon found a local contractor with amazing ideas on how we could turn out yard into a beautiful, outdoor oasis. I enjoyed helping him plan and watching him build our new backyard patio, and I actually learned a lot during the process. I am eager to share what I have learned with others on my new blog!

Add Value To Your Home With Luxury Home Additions

While many luxury home additions do not impact the resale value of your home in one way or another, there are some custom home additions that can really make your home stand out in a crowded home market. More importantly, the right additions may increase interest in your home that will raise the selling price. These are a few of the luxury home additions that buyers in high-end housing markets find essential to have in modern homes.

Smart Home Systems

The "Internet of things" is a big deal in the modern housing markets. People want to have the convenience of a connected house. As you're making upgrades and additions, keep this in mind and install the following things in your home:

  • Smart thermostats
  • Smart garage doors
  • Smart alarm systems
  • Smart door locks
  • Smart lighting (interior and exterior)

You can even have connected landscaping and water fountains that you can control with your mobile phone. The idea is to make your house as connected as possible as a boon to new buyers when making luxury home additions and upgrades.

Wine Rooms or Cellars

Even for people who don't drink wine, the presence of a wine tasting room or a wine cellar in the home adds perceived value and luxury to the home. Especially if you're preparing the home for market. The wine tasting rooms of today are the wet bars of decades before. In fact, they are essential in certain luxury housing markets. If you're looking for luxury home additions that are in high demand, consider adding this feature when you build your next home.

Massive Closet Upgrades

Today's luxury home needs a closet that is equally luxurious. People aren't going to fall in love with a mere walk-in closet. It needs to have a system in place that will utterly wow potential buyers – and perhaps make you reluctant to leave your home behind.

This includes ample storage for clothing, shoes, accessories, handbags, and more in a manner that makes them easy to find, avoids piling of clothing in unused corners, and doesn't make people feel closed in during the process. If you're interested in luxury home additions that make a difference when selling your home (not to mention living in it), luxury closet upgrades are the way to go.

You don't have to spend large fortunes to make luxury home additions that offer high interest among potential buyers and enhance your use of the home you've loved. These are great beginnings.
